When you engage the services of a professional biographer you are taking an important step toward actually completing your life history. Typically we can write your complete story in several weeks to a few months. You can then offer it as a gift to family and friends.
Generally we begin with a free consultation to make sure we understand your aims in recording your life story. Once we agree the scope of the project we give you a quote along with a list of included services. Then you fill out a short questionnaire covering the basic facts (names of key people and dates of key events). Next we share a series of interviews in which your Personal Historian asks questions to draw out your memories. We record and transcribe the interviews, and then arrange the material into a working draft for your review. It's
Pricing ranges from a few hundred dollars to several thousands, depending on the scope of the project. We will work with your budget to provide you the best services in a timely manner. A ten-page life sketch will obviously cost less than a two-hundred page biography. The longer the work, the more detail can be included, and the more fun stories we can include. Often the seemingly insignificant anecdotes are the most memorable.
